On the 10th of November 2009, the hard rock band called The Used took over the Wiltern in Los Angeles. With intense anxiousness Bert, Jeph, Quinn and Dan took the stage with non-stop aggression. They are continuously praised for their musical ability, song writing skills and their crafty way of mending melodic and aggressive thinking. Songs that boast power were performed to a crowd of social and passionate fans. "Taste of Ink", "Pretty Handsome Awkward" and Bird and the Worm but also included to their amazing set list were soothing favorites such as "On My Own", Blue and Yellow" and "I Caught Fire". Visually their video's are enhanced but on stage a bit plain. Not much to gleam at except the passion that eludes from the band.

Most people gear towards social acceptance. They need a sense of what is cool and what is so-called normal. The Used can actually stimulate that adjacent eagerness. The songs written and performed by The Used Including covers of "Burning Down the House" by The Talking Heads, and "Under Pressure" (with My Chemical Romance) by Queen and David Bowie are phenominal. There is a sense that is in relation to the population not just a demographic. Their look and demeanor is quit refined within their own status giving an open invite to anyone of the planet to also encapsulate. Songs of life, heartache, love, death, tatoos, longing and living...nervous energy but we all love it and experience it...The Used brings it to you, speaks to you and yet sometimes for you.
The Used's bombastic album Artwork shines with dramatic anthems such as "Born to Quit", "Blood on my Hands" and "Empty With You". While The Used self Titled album The Used, along with Maybe Memories (compilation CD/DVD), Lies for the Liars, Berth, In Love and Death and Shallow Believer (B-Sides circa 08) were heartfelt and sincere concepts lyrically, Artwork is a hard rocking breath of fully-formed arrangements in the style owned and coined as The Used. Songs filled with ideas of self loathing, hate and love....basically THE USED. Punk-rock rhythms, sensational vocal range and capturing musicianship (but not limited to) equal a desirably musical resume. A fan named Sasha Green states, "They just dive right in...they go all the way and never quit".

Since their self-titled debut release in 2002, The Used have had well over 77 million listens on myspace, certified gold and platinum albums, DVD's and CD's of their musical journey's and tales. This is a band that can be combined into your life easily. You don't really need to love rock, heavy music or dramatics but once you put them in your player, at least two to three songs will embody you. I wouldn't mention it if it wasn't true. I stand by my word on this absolutely.
