MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE

So you guys are currently on the Anti Mother tour with Norma Jean. How's the tour been so far?
The tour has been great. The shows are great. We've made a lot of new friends. What more can you ask for! haha

Any funny or crazy stories to share from this tour or any tour in the past?
There's a few good ones. But then you'd be writing a book. So far this tour we're had to literally move a random car from behind one of the trailers. That was a fun night..

What does MCMB have coming up after this tour is over?
Well after this tour we have about 9 days off then we out with Stick To Your Guns. All the dates are posted on our Myspace. Check them out!

So I'm curious... Whats behind the name, mychildren mybride?
Well back in the day the band had a list of names and mychildren mybride is the one that made the cut. Over time we found out that God refers to us as his children and the church as his bride. It was meant to be.

Tell me a little bit about your full length debut Unbreakable. How it came about, stories behind some of the songs, etc.
Unbreakable was basically 4 years in the making. Some of those songs are super old to us but new to everyone else, no one had ever heard them. But we just never put a real record out so we kept rewriting the songs. Basically perfecting them..

What was it like working with producer Adam D. on this record?
Well it was mostly via emails but he's a crack up. Super funny dude. He made our record heavier than the earth.

MCMB is signed to Solid State Records. Did you guys grow up listening to old Tooth and Nail / Solid State bands? What are some other bands that inspired you growing up?
I grew up in the punk rock scene. The band that is actually got me going to shows is MXPX. I even have an MXPX tattoo. So being on the same label as them is awesome. I'm sitll a huge fan. As far as the rest of my guys i know they grew up with a lot of those old Solid State bands. Living Sacrafice, Embodiedment, Demon Hunter, Mewithoutyou and even Norma Jean.

I've seen a lot of (christian) bands shy away from the label christian thinking the label might pigeonhole them. but it seems like you guys have embraced the fact that you are. what are your feelings about that?
I mean all in all. We love our label. And we love our Jesus.

What can we expect to see in the future from MCMB?
A lot of touring. There's good things on the horizon! Everyone keep eye out and hoping you have the record already. If no, go buy it!
